Lord Jeff's Unsung Hero's A Story Of The Bravery And Heroism By The Young Men Of Amherst College In WWII By William Throckmorton
Mr. William R. Throckmorton, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2005. He was born on June 16, 1919 in Wichita, Kansas. Bill attended Sullivan High School in Chicago, IL and was awarded one of eleven citywide Rotary Club scholarships, as well as a "Lord Jeffery Amherst Scholarship". Bill graduated cum laude from Amherst College where he majored in history and political science and was a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity.
My dad was an Amherst grad Cum Laude 1948. Amherst College was the love of his of his life besides his family. My mother and father attended many reunions with great pride and great memories. My father was also head of the Amherst Alumni Association for the State of Michigan for many years.
