Vintage 1950's Best & Co Lilliputian Bazaar Girl's Military Cloaked Winter Coat Matching Hat Gold Embossed Buttons
This is a fabulous vintage coat and matching hat from our large collection. Best & Co. was one of our favorite department stores in New York City.
The label: LILLIPUTIAN BAZAAR Trademark BEST & CO. is hand sewn in with red thread.
I can't write enough about this girl's coat. Gorgeous shade of slate blue and fully lined in red.
Cloaked 7" in slate blue and also lined in red. The gold tone buttons are elaborately embossed in a USA theme. The cloak has a snap closure by the neckline with 3 buttons down the front. The cloak is removable.
Small blue Peter Pan Collar.
Length: 27" Waist: 13" Sleeve: 16" x 4" fully lined with red lining at the wrist Shoulder: 13" Two 4" flap pockets The base of the coat flairs out to 28" The coat itself is made of 7 panels
Mid back of the coat has a 4" pleat. The front of the coat is a front 4 button closure with one snap at the neckline.
All wool.
The hat is 8" x 3" with blue velvet ear flaps and ribbon ties to secure around the neck. The hat is fully lined as well. The label: BEST & CO. FIFTH AVE. NEW YORK. There is a tiny loop above the tag to hang the hat on a hook or hanger.
The design is amazing. We consider it museum quality. The coat and hat have not been dry cleaned.
