Please note the second paragraph in its reference to American politics, facinating then and now in today's political climate.
The letter reads:
Dear Ms. Laube:
I am happy to advise you that your Inaugural bottle is now fully recorded at the Jack Daniel Distillery.
In a way, Ms. Laube, the Inaugural bottle might be looked upon as a salute the the American political system…a system that has helped make our nation great. We commissioned the design of this bottle to honor the 80th anniversary of the election of Theodore Roosevelt to the Presidency.
If you do not intend to open your bottle for an extended perod of time, we suggest you seal it with paraffin to assure the cork will not dry and become brittle. This will also prevent evaporation of the whiskey itself.
Congratulations on your purchase of the Jack Daniel Inaugural bottle, Ms. Laube, and in closing, we would hope one day you might visit our distillery to meet some of the folks here in Lynchburg (pop. 361), Tennessee.
