Vintage Christmas Pyramid Carousel With 10 "Paddles"
Handmade, hand painted wooden pyramid from our large collection of vintage Christmas Decor.

Four different levels with little angels, Old Saint Nick, little animals that are all "fenced" in. The levels each have a wooden fence around it. The bottom level has the three Wisemen. Each level is different.
There are 10 “paddles” 4″ long each embossed with a star. There is a separate piece that connects the middle portion of the carving two the "paddles" that holds the whole piece together and makes it spin. It is hand carved with the 10 tiny holes for the paddles to be inserted. The "paddles" are removable.
The middle carved section is also removable and spins on a metal pin.
The Christmas Pyramids are Christmas decorations that have their roots in the folklore and customs of the Ore Mountain region of Germany, but which have become popular internationally.
This one was made in China.
They comprise a decorated pyramidal outer frame with candle holders and a central carousel with a rotor at the top which is driven by warm air from the lit candles. The carousel is decorated with nativity scenes and other Christmas figures such as angels and wise men, as well as worldly motifs such as mining folk and forest scenes.
This piece is exquisite and mesmerizing.
It is an amazing keepsake for the family to cherish and love year after year.
