Vintage Folk Art Woven Braided Straw Horse Figurine 13" H x 10" W Folk Art Straw Horse Woven Straw Horse Figurine
This adorable braided horse is from our trip to Scandinavia in the summer of 1974. We flew into Copenhagen and boarded the cruise ship "Royal Viking Sky" that took us to Sweden and Norway.
There is so much incredible detail to this one of a kind straw horse. All handmade.
At the base of each "hoof" is a lavender piece of fabric finished with a brass nail. The lavender is continued on his very full, luxurious tail with a brass nail. His saddle is made from unique green fabric with a yellow thin piece also finished with a brass nail. Woven in between the twisted neck is red straw.
The bridle also has the unique green fabric with two different textured and colored reins attached with two brass nails. One of the reins is orange fabric. The second one is beige lace. His nostrils are hand painted. The black round eyes are held done with pins. The ears are thin pieces of leather.
Exquisite piece of art. Whom ever loves horses or fine handmade art would love this amazing piece.
