Vintage Electro Voice E-V 5 C Wood Speakers Part No.534824 Buchanan MI Working

Electro-Voice E-V Five As are medium-sized bookshelf loudspeakers from around 1970.  They appear to be E-V’s answer to speakers like the KLH Model 17 and Realistic Optimus 1. I found E-V Five Cs in an old Allied-Radio Shack catalog from 1971, retailing for $99.95 each, slightly more than the KLH Model 17, Realistic Optimus 1 and Dynaco A-25 of the same era.  Like the E-V Five C, the Five A is

a two-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker with

a 10 inch woofer and a smallish cone tweeter.

Both measure 21 3/4″ tall,  12 1/4″ wide, and 10 3/8″ deep.

26 lbs each.

The claimed frequency response for both the Five C and Five A is 30 to 20,000 hz (no tolerances given), with a power handling capacity of 60 watts.
