About Herbert Levine:
Beth Levine started out as a shoe model and ened up as head designer at I. Magnin. In 1948 she opened a shoe company with her husband, Herbert Levine. Although the company bore his name, Beth Levine was the creative genius behind the label. Among her creations were stocking shoes. topless shoes that adhered to the foot with adhesive, spring-o-lator sandals, shoes with rolled leather heels, and “Kabuki” shoes that were inspired by Asian footwear.
