This lamp is from our large collection of Mid Century Modern items.
Italian modern 'Taccia' table lamp designed by Achille Castiglioni for Flos 121 in the 1960s. Closer to 1962.
The aluminum and polished steel metal base is topped with an inverted glass bowl diffuser shade and a white aluminum shade.
Makers label on the inside of the light base. The piece is in great vintage condition, however the cord would need replacing.
Achille Castiglioni:
Achille Castiglioni (Italian pronunciation: [aˈkille kastiʎˈʎoːni]; 16 February 1918 – 2 December 2002) was an Italian architect and designer of furniture, lighting, radiograms and other objects. As a professor of design, he advised his students "If you are not curious, forget it. If you are not interested in others, what they do and how they act, then being a designer is not the right job for you."
Absolutely, stunning and such an exceptional piece.
An amazing piece of art presented in the form of a table lamp.
