We have a total of four of these pen and ink pieces from Madrid, Spain. These pieces were purchased in Madrid in 1965 on our trip to Spain. We drove from Algeciras, Spain to Madrid. Fabulous times.
Calle del Conde is a small and irregular street in Madrid , in the Palacio neighborhood, in the Centro district, which runs east/west from Calle del Cordón to Travesía del Conde, next to Calle de Segovia . It owes its name to the missing palace of the count of Revillagigedo , viceroy of New Spain .
The piece is beautifully framed in a black and gold muted frame with glass. The orange matting is 2 3/4" around the image. The image measures 21" x 9". The framing was done in Niagara Falls, NY in 1965 by Progressive Arts, Inc. This framing shop closed its doors in 1993 after 75 years in business.
Stunning piece of old Madrid.
The set of four would look wonderful together if you have the wall space.
Unique and most probably one of a kind.
If you love streetscapes, this one (and or all four) are just for you.
