Erte:
Zsa Zsa is an original color silkscreen Artist Proof signed by the Russian-born French artist Romain de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) known by the pseudonym Erté. Erté, who is best known for his elegant fashion designs which capture the Art Deco period in which he worked. One of his earliest successes was designing for the French dancer Gaby Deslys who died in 1920. His delicate figures and sophisticated, glamorous designs are instantly recognizable, and his ideas and art still influence fashion into the 21st century. His costumes and set designs were featured in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1923 and many productions of the Folies Bergeres. In the dramatic fashion portrait, Zsa Zsa, Erté portrays a tall elegant women wearing a long flame red dress with blue check design accent, wrapped in a long black cape with veiled face. A splendid, vintage collectible Art Deco 1920's fashion illustration print created in 1975 at Circle Gallery NYC.
