Vtg 1960's Canasta Cream Sherry Bottle In A Handmade Carrying Basket Williams & Humbert Jerez and London Empty
This bottle is just amazing. It is from our large collection of vintage wine and liquor bottles.
The 1960's bottle was hand woven into the wicker carrying basket. Totally intact with the original labels, cork and embossed bottle.
It is a stunning piece of vintage basket weaving work. We could not locate another one online.
The cork is in unbelievable great shape. The top is red (almost Bakelite) embossed in gold raised lettering:
EILLIAMS & HUMBERT LTD JEREZ Famous Sherry (written in script).
There is 1 1/4" of red plastic: 1877 W & H 1877
The bottle is embossed on the front and the back.
The original paper label is really beautiful. A gorgeous women is on the top of the label in full color "The Sherry Lady" holding a tray with warm Sherry on it.
Canasta Cream SHERRY
EXTRACT FROM "PEPY'S DIARY" 20th January 1662 (Daily entries from the 17th century London diary).
The wine cooper this day did divide the two bottles of Sherry, which we did send for, and mine was put into a hogshead; It is the first great quaintly of wine that I ever bought.
