Vtg 1960's Handmade Wood & Brass Hookah Elaborate Embellishment Orange Green Pipe Hose New
This unique vintage hookah is from our collection of all things vintage.
The base of this stunning piece is solid brass that has an elaborate hand carved design. The hookah is just shy of 12" tall. The base is 5" x 4" with a 2" handle.
The hand tooled wood stem is highly polished at the section above where it fits into the base. Fantastic spindle work. The polished area is 8". There is a graduated 3" section that is not polished that slides down into the base. There is a small piece of paper that would have indicated where it was made on the lower portion.
The pipe hose is gorgeous in orange and green woven ribbon/fabric pattern. The hose is tied together with very fine string finished off with a 4" white tassel on a string. Where the wood meets on each end there is a 1/2" of tightly wound grey string. The wood piece that fits into the hookah is 1 1/4". The mouth piece is beautifully carved in a spindle is 3 1/2".
The top piece or the bowl of the hookah is missing. I don't ever remember having it.
This piece has been in our family since the 1960's. Never used and is in excellent condition.
We believe it was made in India.
A wonderful conversation piece or a lovely piece of art for display.
