Vtg 1979's Handmade Blue & Brown Glazed Ceramic Honey Jar With Lid And Honey Dipper With Grooves
This one of a kind, exquisite honey jar is from our large collection of vintage ceramics.
6 1/2" Tall x 3 1/4" Wide.
The lid has a 2" partially glazed handle. The under side has a 2" area of glaze. The lip of the handle is not glazed.
The honey jar has a circumference of 14" with the base of 2". It is not glazed around the top portion. Otherwise the complete inside of the jar is glazed as well as the outside of the jar. The outside is gently ribbed all the way down to the base. The bottom of the piece is not glazed nor is it signed by the artist.
The glaze is absolutely gorgeous in shades of blues and browns. The honey dipper is a work of art all in itself. Beautifully glazed with precise graduated circles.
A honey dipper is a kitchen utensil used to collect viscous liquid (generally honey) from a container, which it then exudes to another location. It is often made of turned wood.[1] Besides the handle, the tool consists of equally spaced grooves.[2] Often, the grooves descend in circumference on each new groove.
If you have a honey lover in your life, this is the perfect gift. It is a stunning piece of ceramic studio art.
