Woodcut By Hiroshige 1st Fifty-Three Stations Of The Tokaido Titled Odawara Sakaku Gawa Publisher Hoeido Framed & Matted

We have two of these woodcuts from the Fifty-Three Stations Of The Tokaido in our fine art collection. They are being sold separately. We have had this piece in our collection since the mid 1960's.

I have reached out to a few experts in 1980. Two specific art galleries that specialize in antique and vintage Japanese woodcuts. Both experts agree in the pieces.

gallery maclear Toronto, Canada 5 May 1980:
Woodcut by Hiroshige 1st
From the series "Fifty-Three Stations Of The Takaido" (Tokaido being the main highway between Tokyo, the called Edo, and Kyoto).
Titled: ODAWARA SAKAKU GAWA (The River Sakaku, with "Odawara" referring to the town dating back to mediaeval times past which the river flows).
The publishers' seal names the publisher as Hoeido.

This woodcut is possibly from a later reproduction of the original.

This piece is beautifully framed in a gold wooden frame with blue matting.

Stunning piece that would be welcomed to your fine art collection.
